A 3 day / 2 night weekend in a family-owned Historic French Château. Face an intellectual challenge, solve the murder mystery and win the champagne prize!

Minimum participants : 12 people - murder mystery entertainment is provided by "murder by arrangement"

Circumstances of the Murder

It is 1936. By tradition, at the Château Isle-Marie, ancestral home of Robert, Duke d'Aigneaux, the family dine together each week, a tradition fiercely protected by the Duke's ageing mother,
Charlotte, the Dowager Duchess, who lives in the Dower House in the grounds of the Château.
As usual, the family took afternoon tea together at 4.00 pm.

At 6.00 pm, the family reassembled in the drawing room to play charades for an hour prior to
dinner at 7.00 pm. Charlotte, the Dowager Duchess, Alain, the Count d'Aigneaux, the Duke's younger brother, and his wife,Countess Solange, came into the drawing room and were served
drinks by Marre, the butler.

After a few minutes, the Dowager Duchess sent Marre to tell the Duke and her step-granddaughter Hélène to hurry as they were late. A few minutes later, Marre returned to tell the Dowager Duchess that Hélène was unwilling to join them and that the Duke was not in his room.

The Dowager Duchess, annoyed, sent Solange to insist that Hélène join them and Alain to find
Robert. Some 10 minutes later, Solange returned with a sulky Hélène and a further 5 minutes later, (at approximately 6-25 pm) Alain returned in shock, having found Robert murdered, lying face down on the floor with a knife in his back.

The Police were summoned and have concluded their preliminary examination but appear to be baffled and have not made any arrest.

Robert's uncle, Guillaume, informed of the tragedy, invites his old college friend Hercule Poirot to investigate and his arrival is expected shortly …........
